Introduction
We would like to thank PC Power & Cooling for supplying the review sample.
PC Power & Cooling has been in the PSU business for quite long. They started in 1985 with their first products being quiet fans and not PSUs. However a year later they introduced the Silencer 150 and Turbo-Cool 200 PSUs. In 1991 PC P&C moved to its current facility in San Diego, CA. Some of the innovative products of the company are: the first CPU cooler, the first PC heat alarm, the first independently-regulated PC power supply, the first redundant power system, the first NVIDIA-certified SLI supply, the first one Kilowatt computer power supply, and the first power supply with its own certified test report (Turbo-Cool 1KW).
A crucial point in the company’s history was the buyout from OCZ Technology Group in 2007. With this move OCZ utilized the huge experience of PC P&C to deliver even better PSU products. Currently PC P&C focus on industrial and professional power users and their PSUs follow a non-modular design while OCZ PSU series cover all other categories and include modular PSUs.
In today’s review we will test a PC P&C Silencer 760W. This PSU can deliver 760W at 50°C (836W Peak), is NVIDIA SLI and 80PLUS Silver certified, is equipped with an 80mm ultra quiet fan and has a single +12V rail that can output 74A. The model also comes with seven years of warranty that back up the PSU and ensure your piece of mind.
