Value and Conclusion

  • The PC P&C MK3S600 retails for $89.99
  • Delivered full power with over 50°C ambient
  • Good noise/ripple suppression
  • Fairly good efficiency at <100W loads
  • Only Japanese caps used
  • 5 year warranty
  • Flat modular cables
  • Loose voltage regulation at 3.3V
  • Mediocre performance at CL tests
  • Only two PCIe connectors and three peripheral connectors
  • Noisy fan at high loads & ambient
At the time of the review the PC P&C MK3S600 was sold for $69.99 after a $20 mail in rebate on Newegg. Such a price is very good for a modular 600W unit of this performance which is manufactured by Seasonic and uses quality components like Japan caps. Overall the PC Power & Cooling MK3S600 performed well and managed to work flawlessly even at very high ambient temperatures registering at the same time good efficiency (for its 80 PLUS certification) and ultra low ripple on all rails. The semi-modular design, the flat modular cables and the five year warranty are the cherry on top.
However since nothing in this world is perfect the MK3S600 has some cons too. For starters we think that two PCIe connectors and some more peripheral connectors would greatly increase the unit's usability. Also the performance at CL tests is not among the best we have seen, thanks to the group regulation design used and the fan at high loads and temperatures makes its presence well felt.

To sum up, if you can live with only two PCIe connectors and three peripheral ones and assuming that you don't search for a super silent PSU then PC P&C MK3S600 is a real bargain with the mail in rebate of $20 that is running right now (at the time of the review).
