Efficiency

Using the results we gathered so far, I plotted a chart showing the PSU's efficiency, power factor, and ripple at loads ranging from 10 W to 350 W.



With 230 V input, the sweet efficiency spot is the 150–200 W range, while with 100 V input, peak efficiency is at 150 W. Power factor readings are high with 100 V, but this is not the case with 230 V. Finally, ripple is lower with 230 V, especially at very light loads (10 W).

These tests reveal the PSU's load regulation and efficiency levels under high ambient temperatures and show how the fan-speed profile behaves under harsh operating conditions.
