Call of Duty: Ghosts
This year's installment of Activision's cash-cow
Call of Duty franchise,
Ghosts, by Infinity Ward, offers a memorable single-player campaign that sees you as part of an elite squad of American soldiers that's resisting the Federation (no, not Star Trek), an energy-hungry hegemony based in South America. You play not only human characters, but also a ferocious squad dog. The multi-player component includes several interesting new modes. Based on Infinity Ward's latest in-house engine,
Ghosts is simply stunning in some scenes; in others, it's a throwback to
Modern Warfare. It should tax performance GPUs well enough with its DirectX 11 features.
