Truthfully, there isn't much to be said about the X2H that doesn't apply to the X2V2, too. Accordingly, everything said about the performance, buttons, build quality, feet, cable, and battery life of the X2V2 applies to the X2H all the same. Still, there are some differences worth exploring nonetheless.

As the "H" in the name "X2H" already indicates, the most distinctive feature of the X2H is its high hump. The differences between the X2H and X2V2 go beyond that, however, as the shape of the X2H differs in several key areas. In addition to being more pronounced, the hump on the X2H is also located more towards the back, which, coupled with the middle being narrower and the rear wider, provides ample palm support, unlike on the X2V2. The length and front width of the X2H in their respective sizes match the X2V2, but the other changes alter the shape enough to where the X2H lends itself better to slightly larger hands (relative to the respective size variant) than the X2V2 does. In order to accommodate the different side profile, the side buttons have also been arranged differently on the X2H. Compared to the X2V2, they are now larger and more spaced apart, which increases the odds of hitting them unintentionally, depending on one's grip and hand size. This of course will be less of an issue on the regular-sized X2H, though in my case, I had to adjust my grip slightly to avoid hitting the side buttons on both size variants.

Speaking of the side buttons, their design is almost the same as on the X2V2, though on the X2H only three screws instead of four are used to affix the PCB to the top shell. In terms of pre and post-travel, the forward button is very similar to the X2V2's, but the back button suffers from noticeably higher pre and post-travel, and the actuation point isn't as even, which has it feel mushier as a result. In terms of weight, the X2H ends up marginally heavier than the X2V2: 54 g for the regular ("Size 2") and 52 g for the Mini ("Size 1") variant. Regarding build quality, there are absolutely no differences between the X2H and X2V2, both feel rock solid. When it comes to the main buttons, the X2H likewise doesn't behave differently than the X2V2—the pre-travel, slightly weird click feel, and impeccable button design are all there.

That about wraps it up already—as one would expect, the X2H costs the same as the X2V2, and given that they're a match in terms of performance and quality, the choice really boils down to shape. The X2H does have a slight advantage, however, in that it enjoys less competition in terms of shape. Most notably, the Endgame Gear XM2we and OP1we come to mind, which both too score with optical main button switches, great build quality, and low weight, though neither can keep up in the performance department, and the OP1we at $89.99 in particular isn't much more affordable, either. The Razer Cobra Pro too is comparable in terms of size and shape archetype to the X2H Mini, but much pricier at $129.99 (plus $29.99 for the HyperPolling Wireless Dongle) and, most importantly, far heavier at 77 g, even though it comes out on top in the performance and build quality departments. The G-Wolves Hati-S Plus 4K is even pricier at $159.99, only manages to match the weight of the X2H Mini, and while buttons and performance are marginally better, justifying the premium over the X2H is difficult to argue for. Therefore, and assuming one gets a good copy, the X2H gets our Recommended award.
