QVR Pro
Besides Surveillance Station, QNAP released QVR Pro a couple of years ago, another relevant application. It provides eight embedded monitoring channels in its free version. With the paid license, you can expand its monitoring channels to as many as 128. I should state that Surveillance Station comes with two free monitoring channels and the option to acquire more channels for a corresponding fee. The camera licenses for QVR Pro are different from those of Surveillance Station. A major con is that it only allows you to playback the last fourteen days of recordings in its free version. As its name implies, QVR Pro is more advanced than Surveillance Station and, thus, more demanding on hardware. You will find the main differences between these two applications in the table below.
