Output Noise

We use a CEM-8852 Sound DB Meter we installed 50 cm away from the NAS for these measurements. Ambient noise in our lab was below 30 dBA while these noise measurements were taken.



With the fan controller in smart mode, the NAS is very silent; that is, with the HDDs we used in our tests. Higher capacity HDDs will usually run hotter, which would put more pressure on the fan. However, QTS not only supports smart mode, but also allows for customized fan profiles you can tailor around your needs.
