Output Noise
We use a Class 1
Bruel & Kjaer 2250-L G4 sound analyzer equipped with a Type 4955a microphone that features a dBA-weighted dynamic range below 6 dBA that goes all the way up to 110 dBA. All tests are conducted inside a hemi-anechoic chamber at 25 °C - 28 °C ambient and the test subject is placed a meter away from the sound analyzer.
During these measurements, whose results are depicted below, HDD temperatures were around 36 °C, while the system temperature was at 34 °C. This is important since the fan's speed is configured according to the HDDs' and the system's temperatures in the Smart Fan mode.
We also set the fan's RPM manually, in 10% steps. The results are provided in the graph below.
