Packaging

The NAS comes in a large box with a nice design and some useful information on the product's features and capabilities. On the front is a photograph of the NAS with its active LCD screen, and a small blue label on top tells us that this is the unit with 8 GB of RAM.

On this side are a multilingual features description and a useful scheme of the front and rear. In the bottom-left corner is an HDD/SSD compatibility notice with a link to QNAP's relevant page.

A large number of icons on this side cover the most interesting applications in QNAP's OS (QTS), and a little below it are some icons that describe the product's key features.

A nice scheme on the back describes where the NAS and its key applications can be put to use in a home or business environment.

Contents & Bundle

Once you open the top flap of the box, QNAP's usual "thank you" message will greet you, along with several QR codes that lead to QNAP-related links. The first of these is probably the most important since it leads to QNAP's download and support page. At the bottom, the contents are described. Inside the box, the NAS is well-protected by huge foam spacers, and it is also wrapped in a thick plastic bag.

The small accessories box includes the quick start guide, an AC power cord, two Ethernet cables, the keys for the trays' locks, and two sets of screws for mounting HDDs.

The quick start guide will be of use if you never used a QNAP product before.
