QPAD MK-70 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Review

Value & Conclusion »

Performance

QPAD offers the MK-70 with the highest-performing gaming-suitable switches, the Cherry MX Reds. The Cherry MX Red mechanism offers low actuation force and linear resistance. They are considerably worse off than the MX Brown and MX Blue switches in terms of typing fatigue. Compared to the MX Blacks, they are a lot better in terms of typing speed and comfort and are, for gaming performance, a real no brainers. After gaming on the Reds, it is very hard to get used to the overly hard-to-press Black mechanism.

QPAD's MK-series design is still current and looks great in both daylight and under its own illumination. Just like we saw with the MK-85, there are four light modes to pick from: off, low, medium, and high. When set to high, the lights are easily visible under normal daylight conditions. For gaming in a pitch black room, the low setting seems adequate enough. One slight nuisance is that the lock indicators' light behavior is uncontrollable and always runs at the maximum. If you play in a dimly lit room, you just might feel the need to go over them with a black marker to tame the amount of light these emit.
