The Razer Goliathus builds upon what Razer achieved with the Mantis cloth mats. The Goliathus pushes the envelope even further by allowing you to choose from a total of three different sizes and two different surface textures. The design is sleeker than the old color crazed design of the Mantis mats, but still retains some of the signature Razer graphics.
Overall I have nothing but praises for the Goliathus maybe except that the surface is still very similar to that of the Mantis for better or worse. Those who fancied the Mantis will undoubtedly be very fond of the new Goliathus, however, those who want less friction, and perhaps a more jitter free movement will be equally disappointed. There is still a long way from a good cloth based mat in terms of surface performance to reach some of the newer hybrid mats that share almost the same dampening characteristics of a cloth mat albeit having lower friction and generally perform better in terms of handling. The Goliathus is not a crazy screaming bargain, but it is a solid performing mat being sold at a fair price.
