Razer Leviathan V2 Review

User Experience & Sound Quality »
Alongside at least two desktop apps needed to use the Razer Leviathan V2, Razer also offers two mobile apps used to configure the soundbar and its lighting system. To get them to recognize the soundbar, you have to switch it to Bluetooth mode, but after the initial pairing, the apps detect the Leviathan V2 even when you're using it in USB mode.

Razer Audio (Android, iOS)

Even though its name suggests you can only use it to adjust the audio properties of the Leviathan V2, the Razer Audio app can in fact be used for just about everything else, including selecting the input source, adjusting the equalizer, choosing sound profiles, and configuring RGB effects, colors, direction and brightness. It even has a handy remote, which helps you jump between songs and adjust the volume in Bluetooth mode.

The sound profiles offered within the Razer Audio app are the same ones we get in the Synapse 3 and THX Spatial Audio desktop apps: Flat, Game, Movie, and Music. However, the Music profile in the mobile app sounds nothing like the Music profile in the THX Spatial Audio app; their DSP settings are completely different. This creates an inconsistent listening experience, where you'll get one type of sound when using Bluetooth and a completely different one when switching to USB.

Razer Chroma RGB (Android, iOS)

The Razer Chroma RGB app comes into play when you have multiple Razer Chroma devices and want to synchronize their RGB effects. As the Leviathan V2 was the only such device at my disposal, I wasn't able to make use of the Chroma RGB app and cannot comment on it further.
