Closer Examination
Even though the Pro|Click Mobile is a laptop mouse it's clear that Razer has tried to create something that is stylish and doesn't look out of place while using it with a designer laptop.
As you may have noticed the topcoat of this mouse is of the soft kind. It almost feels like suede leather because of its texture and softness. No doubt about it, this mouse is a real eye pleaser.
Because this mouse runs on batteries it has an On/Off button on the bottom which is easy to operate once you have flipped it around. The power-on takes about a second and then you are able to connect it to your laptop or other Bluetooth capable machine.
To the left of the On/Off button there is a small round button. This button is used only when you need to initiate a pairing process between a PC and the mouse. All you got to do is press the button on the back of the mouse while enabling Bluetooth pairing on your laptop. Then the two devices exchange information and establish a link. After the link is established you can setup the mouse via the standard Windows mouse configuration utility.
The mouse feet are made from high durability Teflon. This means that the feet still perform well, but don't get ruined the first time you use the mouse on a grainy surface. This is one of the small, but important details because you are probably going to be using this mouse on all sorts of strange surfaces.
The scroll wheel is quite standard. Made from clear soft plastic it fits the design of the mouse perfectly. The only thing I can point my finger at is that you can see the spot where the two-part scroll wheel is bonded together, but you have to know it's there in order to spot it.
As with all of Razer's mice, the Pro|Click Mobile features an illuminated Razer "Snake" logo on top of the mouse. This pulsates while you use the mouse and when you connect it to a PC. Since this pulsating LED can potentially drain a lot of battery this feature can be turned on and off by pressing all three buttons on the mouse at the same time and holding them down for about five seconds. This shows just how much thought and consideration that has gone into the making of this mouse.
The "palm" plate on the Pro|Click Mobile can be removed by just pressing it gently on the top and pushing away from the mouse's center. After this is done you gain access to the battery compartment. The batteries are located on each side of the mouse making sure that the balance is perfect.
This cordless mouse uses two AA batteries. This is nice because they are so easy to find anywhere in the world, have a decent capacity, and are usually pretty cheap.
With the "palm" plate removed you can get a good look inside this mouse. The mouse is built using fairly thick plastic so I think that it can withstand a fair amount of abuse before breaking.
Since the Pro|Click Mobile is intended for use with laptops Razer includes a carrying bag, which is nice because it protects the mouse's surface from being scratched.
Size wise the Razer Pro|Click Mobile is roughly the same size as the OCZ Equalizer mobile edition, however, the Pro|Click Mobile has a wider body which makes it a bit more comfortable to use.
