Shape

The Razer Viper Ultimate is a fully ambidextrous mouse, which means there are side buttons on both sides. Its shape lacks any aggressive curves, even Razer's signature front flare is absent. While the butt is notably widened, the front stays fairly slim and flares out only slightly from the middle. The hump sits in the middle, but the gradual slope is just mildly pronounced as the Viper keeps its profile low. Even across its width the top of the mouse is very flat. Around the grip area the sides curve inward horizontally, but stay mostly straight vertically. The only somewhat fancy design element (in terms of shape) of the Viper are the rather deep comfort grooves on the main buttons. Overall, the Viper is a fairly conservative, yet simple and elegant shape that handles well in practice.

As for grip style, I'd say the Razer Viper Ultimate is mostly suited for a claw or fingertip grip as there is little palm support for a full palm grip unless one's hands are on the smaller side. It's a medium-sized mouse and therefore suitable for most hand sizes. For reference, my hand size is 19x10 cm, and the Viper Ultimate feels just fine in claw grip.

Dimensions

This table includes the dimensions of the Razer Viper Ultimate and several other ambidextrous mice. "Front height" denotes the distance between the base and main buttons. Measurements with two decimals have been taken with a caliper, while those with one decimal have been taken with a ruler.
