The RCA Evolution M27PG135F is a very capable 27-inch gaming monitor. When observed from that perspective, it has a lot going for it, such as the 240 Hz refresh rate, impressively low input lag, and admirable motion handling. Gaming on this monitor is great; if your rig is capable of hitting 200 or more frames per second in your favorite games at the native 2560x1440 resolution, you'll be rewarded with buttery smooth, superbly responsive gameplay. While you can't really use the MPRT mode, because it drops the brightness down to 80 cd/m², the pixel response times are good enough to provide you with a mostly blur-free picture, with the overdrive technology set to Low.
An issue that we need to discuss is the price. Coming in at $429, the RCA Evolution M27PG135F is more expensive than some other brand-name 27-inch QHD 240 Hz IPS monitors, such as the LG UltraGear 27GR83Q-B ($349), or the MSI G274QPX ($349). These two don't enjoy the practicality of an integrated KVM switch or a USB-C port with DP Alt Mode and Power Delivery, but if these are the features you're looking for, we can't ignore the Gigabyte M27Q X. It's priced exactly the same as the RCA Evolution M27PG135F and offers a better (more automated) KVM switch implementation, although it falls behind in terms of charging power, as its USB-C port peaks at 18 W, compared to 90 W of the RCA Evolution M27PG135F.
That means that to justify getting the RCA Evolution M27PG135F, you have to have a firm intention not to only connect it to your desktop PC, but also to use its USB-C port to connect your laptop and essentially utilize the monitor as a very practical one-cable docking station. If that's the case, then the RCA Evolution M27PG135F is a better choice than any of the aforementioned competitors.
Even if you end up paying a bit more for the RCA Evolution M27PG135F and never using its USB-C port, once you fire up your favorite game and get sucked in by the monitor's stellar gaming performance, you'll soon forget that you had several cheaper options at your disposal.
