I have to say, I'm positively surprised by the Redragon M913 Impact Elite. Not too long ago,
I reviewed the Redragon M686 Vampire Elite, and that one was riddled with issues, especially when it came to sensor and wireless performance. Essentially, the M913 Impact Elite is the MMO version of the Vampire Elite and fixes a lot of the gripes I had with the latter. There is no longer any base sensor delay, wireless delay has been lowered decently to 2 ms, and polling stability is much better. Polling rates other than 1000 Hz are still unstable in wireless mode, but 1000 Hz at least works pretty much perfectly, and that's no doubt the most important setting. Click latency remains just as high as on the Vampire Elite, but frankly, for an MMO mouse, click latency tends to be less of a concern.
Generally, were the M913 Impact Elite not an MMO mouse, I'd criticize it for its high weight, super-stiff charging cable, and off-centered sensor, but for an MMO mouse, the criteria is different. You'd want a well-built mouse with a lot of buttons, the ability to program those buttons to your liking, a shape that stays comfortable for hours on end, and a reliable wireless connection, all of which the M913 Impact Elite provides. Build quality is solid, all buttons are of above average quality, the main buttons can be spammed with ease, and the scroll wheel works without issues. The software provides all the necessary options, and it's pleasantly light on resource usage, too. As far as wireless goes, the M913 Impact Elite is competently made. The connection was stable throughout testing, sleep mode is working as intended, battery life should sit at around 40 hours even with illumination fully enabled, and charging is remarkably fast due to USB Type-C fast-charging support.
In short, the M913 Impact Elite is a very solid choice for MMO gaming—for FPS gaming, I'd look elsewhere. What really sets the Redragon M913 Impact Elite apart, however, is the price.
At $49.99, the Impact Elite is priced very competitively. Both the
Logitech G604 and
Corsair Scimitar RGB Elite are better mice overall, but they retail for $99.99 and $79.99, respectively, which is more than many are willing to spend on a mouse solely used for MMOs. In fact, finding a wireless MMO mouse for $49.99 at all in today's market isn't easy, and even less so if it's supposed to be good. The Redragon M913 Impact Elite is both good and affordable, which is why it gets our Budget and Recommended awards from me.
