Shape
The shape of the M991 Enlightenment clearly takes inspiration from the Logitech G502 without being a straight copy. The elongated main buttons are the most notable similarity. In addition to that, the back too doesn't flare out much at all, though there is a slight flare on the right side which provides the ring finger and pinkie something to rest on. The left side has a thumb rest and curves inwards on the vertical axis, but not so much on the horizontal. While the mouse body widens towards the front, an actual front flare is absent, and the mouse rather continually widens towards the front. The hump is mostly centered and gradually slopes down towards both ends, though the front retains a high profile regardless. Much like on the G502 and G402, the left side isn't raised as much, and the profile quite flat instead. Overall, a somewhat original and generally agreeable design that is mostly focused on comfort.
A peculiarity of the M991 Enlightenment is the sensor position, which is off-center. More specifically, the sensor is shifted to the right on the x-axis. Depending on how adept at adapting one is, this will take a certain amount of time to get used to.
As for grip styles, I'd say the M991 Enlightenment generally suits palm and claw grip the most. It is a medium-sized mouse with a moderately pronounced hump, which should make it generally suit most hand sizes. For reference, my hands are 19 cm long and 10 cm wide, and I found the M991 Enlightenment quite comfortable in claw grip.
