The Tachyon 750 W is without any doubt a very good unit with pretty high performance in all areas, though the platform it uses is so old that Super Flower has already replaced it in the Leadex series. I think this unit could achieve a much higher price/performance ratio with a lower price, which would easily allow it to compete against the competition based not only on up-to-date solutions, but also more bells and whistles, like stealth cables and a fully modular design.
However, the Tachyon does use a reliable and proven platform that still manages to offer good voltage regulation, low ripple, and high enough efficiency while keeping output noise very low under normal conditions, though the unit lacks a semi-passive operation. The cherry on top is Rosewill's seven-year warranty, instead of the five-year warranty initially offered.
To sum up, the Tachyon-750 is a solid performer, but I think it should have a lower price since you can buy a newer unit based on an up-to-date platform offering better overall performance for the same money. It would be a very good deal for anyone looking to buy a reliable, high-performance unit if Rosewill were to lower the price to around $140. I would also like to see an FDB fan instead of a plain sleeve-bearing one, although the latter does a pretty good job and isn't noisy.
