Packaging

Sapphire ships the Edge VS8 in a fairly simple black box with the model name on the front. A lot of information on the back gives you an idea of what is within the package, and of the hardware the VS8 utilizes. Opening things up, the system is nicely embedded within a foam cutout. A plastic bag also protects it from scratches and fingerprints.

You get quite the set of cables with the Edge VS8. Sapphire includes an optical, HDMI, HDMI to DVI cable, and some screws for the device. You will, on top of that, get some detailed documentation, drivers, a VESA mount, and a solid base for the Edge VS8 to stand on.


The PSU is fairly compact and makes a good impression. It is made by a manufacturer called Maic and is rated for an output of 19 V at 3.42 A, which is pretty standard for such small systems.
