Sapphire X1650 Pro 256 MB Review

Packaging & Contents »

Introduction

The Radeon X1650 Pro is based on the ATI RV530 GPU, which is manufactured on an 80nm process. This allows ATI to make the GPU cheaper and the heat output of the GPU is reduced as well, allowing a less sophisticated cooling solution. Over time we will see customized card solutions from vendors like Sapphire. But for the first round all cards are based on the ATI reference design.

If you compare the cards X1600 Pro, X1650 Pro and X1300 XT OC you will see that those cards are almost identical in specs. That's why there is not so much of a performance difference to expect.
