Installation
Installing the Scythe Kabuto 3 is pretty straightforward. On Intel LGA 115x systems all that needs to be done is to attach the two push-pin mounting clips to the heatsink. Hold the crossbar in place on the cooler and screw the mounting arms to the crossbar. This will hold everything loosely in place for the time being.
Next, apply some thermal paste to then position the heatsink onto the CPU and push the pins down to secure it in place.
With that done, install the 120 mm fans and plug it into the CPU fan header. Once done, the Scythe Kabuto 3 is ready to go.
The mounting hardware included with the Scythe Kabuto 3 is very simple. That said, for a cooler of this size, I would have preferred a bolt-through mounting kit, but that's more of a personal preference than anything else. In terms of difficulty, I would rate its installation a 9 on a scale of 1 (hardest) to 10 (easiest). The only way it could be easier is if the Intel mounting clips did not have to be manually attached to the cooler, as while it's not difficult to do so, it is a bit awkward.
