Internals

Opening up the PSU reveals the modular connector daughterboard. Additional filtering caps are installed next to the connectors. Japanese Nichicon capacitors are used here.

The internal components are packed very neatly and close to each other. Without further disassembly a limited number of components can be observed.

Part of the primary filtering stage (the Y capacitors) can be seen just under the power switch and AC power connector, while at least one X capacitor as well as the MOV and a couple of chokes can be seen from the side.

Further down the path we find the dual 12 V transformers and a DC-DC voltage regulator board that steps down the 12 V further to 5 V and 3.3 V.

Moving back to the primary side on the APFC there are three 820uF (420 V) Nippon Chemi-con KHE series capacitors. Next to them, mounted to a heatsink, we find a C6D10065 diode and a couple of 6R099P6 MOSFETs. A separate board to the left hosts the CM6901T2X resonant controller, the M031FB0AE ARM-based MCU, the WT7527RA controller handling the PSU protections, as well as the 28070 PFC controller.

The overall build and assembly quality is superb.

The Prime-TX 1600 ATX 3.0 utilizes a 135 mm HA13525H12SF-Z fan (12 V, 0.5 A, up to 2300 RPM) with seven blades.
