Packaging & Closer Look

Packaging

The mouse pad comes packaged in a round, see-through plastic tube. This is great, as you will be able to take a close look at the different designs of the pads.

Features:
  • Highly durable and extremely strong cloth material
  • Smooth sliding offering maximum accuracy
  • Finest natural rubber base for perfect grip
  • Low height: 1.4mm only
  • Dimensions: 14 x 10 inch (total: 140 sq. inch)

Closer Look

The size of the pad can be considered average. It is slightly bigger than the good old Ratpadz but much smaller than some cloth mouse pads out there. The MX1000 is a fairly big mouse, but still has some space to move about.

The top of the pad is covered by a thin and slightly shiny cloth. This one sports some sort of green/brown, maybe considered rusty backdrop with bullet holes. There are two other variants: one with a abstract logo in blue and another plain black one. The cloth is fairly fine and very smooth.

On the bottom left there is the Sharkoon website imprinted on the cloth. No actual logo anywhere. The plain black version does not sport the website address, but the actual logo.

The buttom of the 1337 gaming mat is made of natural foam and has rills to hold the pad in place. This works very well, as it cannot be moved around at all, when placed on the table.

The pad is only 1.4mm thick, so it feels almost like a piece of cloth. It can be bent and twisted without much force. I would not recommend folding it, but rolling it up and taking it to a LAN party should not be a problem.
