A Closer Look - Outside
Out of the box, the Sharkoon TG6 RGB can be considered quite an understated case with its clean lines and flat surfaces because of the employed glass panels.
Unlike some other options in this price segment, the TG6 RGB actually uses glass for the front panel. Interestingly enough, it is tinted in a golden brown, which becomes apparent as soon as you pull it off to reveal the three pre-installed 120 mm RGB intake fans. In the rear, the layout looks quite traditional with the PSU bay on the bottom of the chassis.
The main side panel is made out of glass, and Sharkoon has designed it in a way that leaves it nice and clean with a black frame and no visible mounting elements. On the opposite side is a solid steel panel that is also held in place with thumb screws.
Taking a closer look at the bottom, the PSU bay comes with a single set of mounting holes, so you will know which way the unit is meant to be installed. Above that are the seven expansion slots. Each slot is protected with a reusable cover, which makes me wonder why Sharkoon includes another in the accessories box. At the very top is a fourth 120 mm RGB fan—it is set to push hot air out the back.
The entire top is protected by a magnetic dust filter, while the ceiling of the TG6 RGB may hold up to two 140 mm or three 120 mm fans. Thus, you may opt for a radiator of up to 360 mm here if you like. In terms of IO, you will find a pair of USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 connectors alongside the usual audio plugs. Sharkoon also included a toggle button for the LEDs and a power button.
The underside of the TG6 RGB is quite basic, but functional. However, look closely and you can see the openings to mount liquid cooling gear, as well as the rubber-ring-equipped placement possibility for a 3.5" drive.
