The following graph shows the NAS's overall performance in all the tests we conducted using our custom-made software.
The affordable KD22 managed to register a good overall performance for the standards of its category, which proves that Shuttle is taking steps in the right direction here, which is great since they see a bright future in NAS servers. The only downside here was the unit's the performance with external storage solutions using the NTFS filesystem. We strongly believe that this is a software problem, so Shuttle should push their software engineers to fix it with the next firmware update.
Let's now compare the performance of the KD22 to that of other NAS devices.
The KD22 didn't even sweat with multiple clients and a dramatically high volume of network transfers, handling the situation well. Being incredibly energy-efficient while doing so, its SoC can obviously, although it only features a single core, cope with the needs of a home or small office environment.
