A Closer Look - Inside

To gain access to the interior, simply remove both thumb screws attached to each side panel. On the inside, you will find an all-metal shroud covering the PSU bay, which comes with a single opening for routing cables to the case interior. There is enough space in the front to allow for a thin radiator and fan combo along the full height of the chassis, which makes installing a 280 or 240 mm radiator here an option. On the other side, you can clearly see the unique layout as everything is mirrored due to the motherboard orientation. A large opening allows for clear and easy access to the underside of the CPU area.

Silverstone does not ship the case with any zip ties. Instead, the LD01 comes equipped with Velcro strips for easy cable routing. You will also find three 3.5" hard-drive trays underneath the shroud and a metal tray for two 2.5" units above the opening for the motherboard. This brings the total number of storage bays to a good five for a chassis this compact.

As the front does not come with any drive bays, its sole purpose is for cooling. Silverstone also includes a small but solid plastic shelf on which a GPU may rest to relieve strain on the motherboard and ensure that the area around the CPU stays clear even if the system is transported.

The PSU bay in the rear, underneath the shroud, is quite basic but functional with four foam bumps to stop any vibrations from being passed on to the metal frame of the Lucid LD01. Above that are the five expansion slots and 120 mm fan mounting possibility. Silverstone placed reusable covers that are held in place by traditional screws over the expansion slots, so you will need appropriate tools to assemble your system.

Looking at the ceiling, you can see how the mounting holes here clear the motherboard area by a bit, so you will not have to worry about components clashing during assembly. Another noteworthy element is the use of a PCB for the top I/O, which is just another touch of quality within the Lucid LD01. All the cables within the chassis are black and of the standard variety. As you can see, the USB-C port comes with a 20-pin header, so it is of the USB 3.0 variety, which should suffice for the vast majority of users.
