Packaging

The packaging SilverStone has opted for is quite bright due to its mostly white design, which makes for a good background on the front to showcase the PF240 itself. Users will also notice support for various motherboard RGB solutions. Turning to the left side, you will find the product name and a QR code directing you to the user manual. Meanwhile, the back details the specifications of the heatsink and fans, along with listing the supported CPU sockets, as well as other items.

On the right side, you will find the product name again, along with mechanical drawings showing the dimensions of the cooler but not much else. It is not until you look at the top that you will find the listed features which mostly talk about the ARGB lighting and the rubber pads for reducing vibration noise on the fans. Finally, the bottom simply has the product name again.

Contents

The SilverStone PF240 comes in your bog-standard cardboard tray coupled with a thin sheet of foam on top. While not what I like to see, it is more than adequate and does the job well enough, especially considering its more affordable pricing.

The cooler supports all the sockets you would expect, including Intel's ancient LGA775. Only AMD's TR4 gets left out, but considering TR4 processors feature a much larger IHS, that is not a surprise. Moving on, a quick look at the mounting hardware shows this cooler has a lot of hardware to go with it, which may be intimidating to first-time builders. However, in actual practice, most of it is just wires and adapters.
