Silverstone Temjin TJ08 Review

Value and Conclusion

  • The Silverstone Temjin TJ08 can be had for around $100 dollars at big etailers in the US and for around 90€ in Europe. That makes the case rather pricey for a steel case with aluminum front. Certain cases from Lian-Li cost just as much, but are completely made out of Aluminum.

The Silverstone Temjin TJ08 may look incredible, with its really sturdy aluminum front. It has great cooling capabilities with the possibility of using a 12cm radiator for water cooling in such a small case, but very careful planning is needed to get everything working and fitting right of the bat. This is definitely the kind of case which you buy before you choose all your hardware. The biggest shortcoming is the quality. While the front is heavy and sturdy, the rest of the case leaves a lot to be desired. The paint job is absolutely horrid and comes off way to easily. I have not had such problems with other cases which cost much less. The crooked and flimsy drive bay covers also ruin the great look of the front upon closer inspection. Then there is the problem with the loose plastic feet. Why would Silverstone use the cheapest plastic feet on a $100 dollar case? I do not know. But with the case costing around $100 in the US and around 90€ in Europe, you may want to take a long, hard look at all the other high quality aluminum cases available at that price point with much higher quality. Overall, the case is definitely not worth the price.
