I have to say, I'm quite impressed. It's rare for newcomers on the gaming mouse market to hit the mark on their first attempt. The SPC Gear LIX Plus did very well overall. PixArt's PMW3360 performed great in my testing, buttons and scroll wheel are nice, the materials and components used are all of high quality, and despite the very lightweight build, no compromises in terms of build quality have been made—I can't make the side buttons click no matter how hard I squeeze the sides. The grippy coating, flexible cable, and nicely gliding feet add to the fantastic handling of the LIX Plus. The fact that the shape is not a straight up clone of a popular shape also deserves to be mentioned—a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. Although some inspiration has been drawn from the Zowie FK series as well as the Logitech G Pro Wireless, the LIX Plus is its own thing with a unique feel to it. Lastly, tastefully done RGB lighting and full software customizability complete the package. The inclusion of a set of replacement mouse feet is quite welcome, too.
When using the latest firmware and software along with the 4 ms debounce delay setting, click latency is nice and low. The only flaw I could find is that my copy developed an occasional squeaking noise on the left mouse button, similar to the one found in the first batch of the Glorious Model O. I don't rate this too negatively, though, as it's subject to variance. All in all, the LIX Plus excels, and earns both the Editor's Choice and the Budget award from me.
