Build Quality & Comfort

The outer headband is made out of metal, which makes it extremely sturdy and beautiful-looking. Honestly, this is the prettiest gaming headset I've ever seen, even without any aftermarket modifications in terms of replacement headbands and ear cushions. The presence of silver metal also adds a touch of luxury to the overall visual presentation. Every time you take the Arctis 7 into your hands, put it on your head or just look at it while it's sitting on the table, you'll be well aware of where your hard-earned money went.

The elastic inner headband poses absolutely no strain to the top of the head. You can change its tension by adjusting the Velcro strap, but I don't think you'll feel the need to do so because the comfort level is constantly great. Add to that an exceptionally soft pair of ear cushions and a carefully adjusted clamping force and what you get is a truly comfortable headset, probably the most comfortable one I've ever had the pleasure of putting on my head.

The earcups can be rotated by 90° to make resting the headset on your chest (if worn around the neck) or table easier. The joints that make it possible are smooth and silent. It would be lovely if they were also made out of metal, but here, SteelSeries didn't change anything compared to the $50 less expensive Arctis 5. The plastic they used for the joints and the ear cups thankfully feels very robust.
