Assembly - Motherboard Tray

The motherboard tray also acts as a mounting plate for a single 3.5" or two 2.5" drives. Those who go for the ODD kit will use this space for the slimline drive instead.


The CPU block is secured with included, longer screws. Streacom includes nuts with a thread you may stick to the board with double-sided tape rings. Once these are in place, you can flip the board over to install it to the motherboard tray.


Once the board is ready, you have to insert the copper pipes into the CPU block. I used a bit of thermal grease here for better contact. The black arms are pre-attached, and you just have to loosen the screws up with the hex key to move them around. Once assembled, thermal paste is to be used on the copper shim which then sticks to the block. This whole contraption is then placed onto the CPU with thermal paste as well and secured with the provided screws. Last but not least, I lined the larger cooling block with some thermal paste inside its grooves and pushed the heat pipes into the four center lanes. The amount of thermal material provided is just enough for a single application. It would have been nice had Streacom included a larger syringe.
