Noise and Fan Speed (Increased Temperatures)
The fan's passive operation lasts up to around 260 W. Fan speed increases notably afterward, but stays below 40 dBA in even the worst-case scenario. However, results would have been better had Super Flower used a PWM circuit to control the fan, which would allow for a much wider RPM range. There is no need for fan stop with PWM control, which doesn't apply as much stress to the FDB bearings as fan-stop mode.
Noise and Fan Speed (~30 °C)
Passive mode lasts for a while, and the PSU's noise level sits at around 30–35 dBA with over 600 W load, at operating temperatures close to 30 °C.
As shown in the graphs above, passive mode covers most of the operating range. At normal temperatures, maximum noise output doesn't exceed 30 dBA.
