RAID Operations
In this scenario, we perform RAID rebuild and sync operations during which we measure the time the NAS needs to complete theses tasks, along with the average power consumption for these rebuild and sync periods. In NAS servers with four bays or more, we rebuild and sync RAID 1, RAID 5, and RAID 6 arrays, while in smaller two-bay NAS servers, we are confined to a RAID 1 array. The Bitmap option is disabled in NAS servers that support it to produce comparable results since it speeds up RAID rebuild time.

Operation | Time | AVG Power Consumption |

RAID 1 Sync | 1:31:44 | 19.86 W |

RAID 1 Sync Fast | 0:03:38 | 18.74 W |

RAID 1 Rebuild | 1:26:38 | 18.84 W |

This NAS consumed very little power during RAID synchronization and re-building. The time it took to complete these operations with the HDD scan option (for bad blocks) enabled is pretty average, but skipping the HDD scan option greatly reduced synchronization times.
