Durability

This headset is not all that durable the size adjustment mechanism seems a bit flimsy, but nothing horrible. There is a lot of stuff that can break on the Pulsar SX because it is a relatively complex product.

Value and Conclusion

  • The TekNmotion Pulsar SX headset is available at TekNmotion Shop for only $59.99.
  • Lots of bass
  • USB Sound card
  • Well thought out control box
  • Microphone mute
  • Good and flexible microphone setup
  • Relatively good sound quality
  • Good price / performance ratio
  • Closed back design
  • Detachable microphone
  • Perhaps too much bass for some
  • Build quality is nothing special
  • Flamboyant lights and design not for all
  • Hot because of the closed back design
The TekNmotion Pulsar SX headset gives you a great amount of features for your hard earned bucks. The design is a bit flashy, and I guess that some will love it and some will undoubtedly hate it and think it is the most hideous headset on the market. Personal tastes aside the headset does what it is supposed to and a little more. The sound quality is relatively good for a headset that only costs $59.99 and has a USB sound card. The sound card is no better or worse than any of the other USB style C-Media based solutions on the market today.

The overall design is alright from a functional point of view. The shiny plastic is perhaps a bit tacky and will show scratches easily, but nevertheless it does look kind of cool to begin with. One of the really neat features of this headset is the in-line control box that lets you control both the microphone and all the other features of the headset.

Overall this headset performs above what is to be expected from a headset that costs so little.
