The N7710-G showed its true potential by achieving over 180 MB/s average speed in our test with five clients. If we had 10GbE network equipment at our disposal, transfer speeds would probably be even higher, but such is unfortunately not the case, so we only evaluated performance with both Gigabit ports working together.
While CPU performance was great, easily coping with the tasks we threw at it, the following screenshot shows that RAM utilization was very high. Given this unit comes with 4 GB installed, a lot for a NAS running a custom-tailored Linux OS, we think Thecus's programmers should take a look at RAM utilization since there is obviously a memory leak. With five clients continuously asking for data, power consumption was 101.5 W.
