Thermalright Macho Rev.B Review

A Closer Look

The Macho Rev.B is a large single tower that utilizes an offset design for better memory clearance. It weights in at 720 g and is comprised of 31 aluminum fins.

The top plate is anodized black, and as can be seen, all the aluminum fins are shaped like the top plate. The tabs in these fins are there to direct airflow, which helps in maximizing the cooler's potential.

The six Ø6 mm nickel-plated heatpipes pass through a nickel-plated base and transfer heat to all 31 aluminum fins.

Taking a closer look at the nickel-plated base, there is a nice clean finish, which, while not a true mirror finish, still looks much better than a rough machined base.

Thermalright provides a TR TY147 fan. It measures in at 152 mm x 140 mm x 26.5 mm, which makes its dimensions rather unique. It has a PWM range of 300-1300 RPM, which should make it extremely quiet. The white and black color scheme suits the cooler, giving it a neutral theme that should match most systems.
