Performance

Heading on to the performance tests, the Level 20 RGB hard pad leaves nothing to be desired. All three tested mice tracked flawlessly on its surface, which I expected. I used a Tt eSPORTS Iris Optical for the lower price range (it has a PMW3325 sensor) and a Cooler Master MM530 (PMW3360) and Logitech G PRO Wireless (HERO) for a few steps up in the price ladder. I encountered no issues during synthetic and in-game testing.

These graphs show fifteen horizontal swipes with each mouse. If anything strange should happen with the sensor, this test (and others that aren't as impressive visually) will show it. I also did some in-game testing in CS:GO and Overwatch.

Lighting

Needless to say, RGB is definitely the most heavily advertised feature of this product—hence its name. Just like its extended-size cloth variant, the hard Level 20 RGB pad has some fantastic-looking effects you can control via the iTAKE software (more on that later). There are a number of different effects to choose from, all of which are buttery smooth, with vivid colors and more than decent brightness.

The driver software, Thermaltake iTAKE, which is an AIO for their new products, can control many different kinds of devices. The panel from which the USB cord extrudes doesn't have any buttons, nor does it light up. The lighting can also be controlled through Amazon Alexa (which makes this the first smart mouse pad alongside the cloth variant), and you can sync it up with Razer Chroma devices, too.

I made a video in order to demonstrate some of the lighting effects. Please note that my camera cannot capture the true colors and brightness levels; it definitely looks a million times better in real life.
