Introduction

Aerocool is a company based in Taiwan and founded in 2001. Primarily, the brand has been about producing cooling solutions for industrial and personal computers. As the gaming market became more lucrative and demanding, however, it forayed into other categories, such as gaming cases, PSUs, mice, headsets, keyboards, multi-functional panels, and gaming chairs. To that purpose, another division was created within the company in ThunderX3, their gaming peripherals development department.


eSports teams and their needs for innovative peripherals and accessories drive most companies as they design a gaming product. In this review, we will review the ThunderX3 Yama7, a gaming chair from the Yama series of Thunderx3. Even though it is characterized as a gaming chair because of its overall shape and aesthetics, I could easily see it as a business-centric product as well. Build quality, original design, and technological excellence are areas the ThunderX3 division focuses on, and those are the areas we are going to evaluate.



The Yama chair series consists of four different models (Yama1, Yama3, Yama5, and Yama7) with different ergonomic features and, as such, different price tags. The Yama7 costs $599 in the US and €599 in the EU and comes with high tensile mesh and ergonomic features above and beyond most of the chairs we have reviewed to date. It has a three-directional headrest, integrated lumbar-support system, paddles for all adjustments instead of levers, and a height-adjustable backrest. Other than the mesh fabric, which covers most of the chair's surface, aluminium, nylon, plastic, and breathable PU pleather are used.
