Value and Conclusion

  • The Tt eSPORTS Shock V2 is available online for $65.
  • Fairly comfortable
  • Foldable design
  • Mediocre sound quality (even for the price)
  • Disappointing microphone
  • Poor passive noise isolation
As we know, wearing comfort, sound quality, and microphone performance are three pillars of a great gaming headset. The Tt eSPORTS Shock V2 proved itself worthy in only one—its square-shaped ear cups equipped with soft cloth ear cushions fare well in the comfort department, even during longer gaming sessions. The foldable design of the headset is interesting and potentially practical for when you want to take it on the go, and the built-in microphone has a nice, smooth pivoting mechanism.

Unfortunately, it's mostly downhill from there. The sound quality is lacking, mostly because the mid-range is noticeably boosted, but the high-range is veiled and completely devoid of finer details. In more chaotic shooters, this creates a strange sensation where you constantly hear someone approaching, but there's not enough acoustic information to be able to tell from where exactly. For slower shooters and other genres, the sound quality is passable, but it still lacks the warmth needed for atmospheric or dialogue-heavy games. The microphone isn't very good either—it sounds super thin and is very prone to picking up background noise. Sure, your teammates will be able to hear and understand you, but don't expect them to be thrilled with the quality of your microphone.

If the price of this headset falls below $50, it will become a more interesting proposition. At $65, there are better options available, even brand-name ones, such as the Corsair HS35 (reviewed here) or the SteelSeries Arctis 1. You can read my review of its wireless version here.
