Ugreen PowerRoam 1200 Power Station Review

Value & Conclusion »

Before using the unit, we plugged it into an AC outlet to charge. It manages to pull an impressive 1100 W to charge & Ugreen advertises that you can get an 80% fill in just 50 minutes or go all the way within 1.5 hours. This is great to get the unit ready quickly and faster than most other units of the 1000 to 1500 W range tend to offer.

We also placed the unit in the sun and utilized the two solar panels to charge the unit. These panels have a feature that only really becomes apparent when in direct sunlight. There is a little clear plastic piece with a red dot. You want to align the panels to the sun so that the shadow of the dot projects in the center of the red circle target. In terms of performance in the Pacific Northwest, we managed around 175 W charging speed when using both panels and that shadow aligned perfectly. While one would not expect a full 400 W, we were hoping for something around 300 W and the panels are certainly large enough to achieve that. However, our weather situation simply did not allow for more - as such that is not Ugreens fault.

The Ugreen PowerRoam 1200 was used in general settings powering a gaming PC, monitor and notebook. On top of that, in an environment where the entire house was being renovated in a complete interior as well as exterior gut, the unit managed to power the fridge as well as as a general kitchen utility like a microwave or air fryer while being mindful to only use one of of those at any given time. We did try the U-Turbo functionality to allow for peak use and it made the distinct difference to allow for short term use of power tools while the 1949 wiring of the house was being ripped out and completely renewed.
