The Vantec NexStar Dual Bay Hard Drive dock is ideal for someone who may prefer style over substance. The dock is built well, easy to operate and looks outstanding. Performance overall is very good, not great but the NexStar dual bay does everything as advertised. The one major shortcoming is its lack of a second eSATA connector. So unless your system supports Port Multiplier specifications, using two SATA connected hard drives in the dock at once cannot happen. At a price of around $75.00 dollars it would of been nice to see two eSATA connections connected to dual controllers within the dock. Of course, one drive can be connected using the USB cable and the other through eSATA and it works great. Aside from that one issue the Vantec NexStar Dual Hard Drive Dock was a pleasure to work with, came with a well thought out bundle, and looks great on any desk.
