X-Desktop Stand Pro

With a product called "Halo," I expected something more bundled in. As we saw before, not only was this not the case, but there is no first-party carrying solution, either. What XGIMI does have is the X-Desktop Tripod, a mini tripod, but also a premium stand we are taking a look at as well today. The X-Desktop Stand Pro is another optional purchase for a whopping $100, so expectations are high already. It can be found for ~$67 on the XGIMI Aliexpress store, so I do not know what's up with the price disparity. Regardless, we see the product box is similar to that of the Halo with a nice render up front alongside the company and product names, and illustrations of the stand in use with a projector to showcase the possible movement options.

The box opens up from a side without any seals and tries to be fancy by raising the packaging inside with the use of strings on the side. It's not very well executed, however, since it barely rises up and is only for a cardboard layer on top of the stand that remains underneath and untouched. As with the XGIMI Halo, we see a thick foam piece with a circular cutout to hold and protect the X-Desktop Stand Pro. There is also a small manual/warranty card, in case you weren't sure how to go about using it.

XGIMI put a wax paper wrap all over the stand, and plenty of tape on the back you need to peel off using the loose ends. Once done, we get our first good look at it and see the use of thick aluminium alloy throughout for the body, as much as 8 mm on the pivot point where the pressure is highest. The stand is 95 mm tall, with a diameter of 200 mm making for a sturdy, stable base. The aluminium alloy gets a brushed finish that looks quite neat in person, and the XGIMI logo in black I would have rather seen on the back or side has been put on the base.

Non-slip silicone pads on the base add grip, and a zinc alloy clip on the side acts as a cable guide for the cables attaching to the projector. On the pivot plane is a standard 1/4" thread to screw into the projector similar to a tripod, and it is on a thick silicone pad to prevent any scratches to the base while also absorbing minor shocks and vibrations. The screw leads to a conical ABS plastic housing with a polycarbonate knurled finish that is used to turn the thread for installation, and relative to the plane of the base itself, the conical shape provides 12° of pitch adjustment up or down. This means you can turn the projector around the thread 360° and 12° up or down. The stand is rated to support up to 4 Kg, and any of the XGIMI projectors to date are well within that limit.
