The XPG Valor Mesh is essentially the same chassis as the Valor Air, but provides a differently designed front which utilizes metal mesh as the name implies. The Valor Mesh is truly a case that will catch your eye because of its price. At an MSRP of $49.99, the chassis enters impulse buy territory with "buy now, ask questions later."
On the exterior the case is simple and while it feels a little less substantial than other enclosures out there, the XPG Valor Mesh is quite alright. The glass panel is nice and clean, the mesh front doesn't flex a lot, and you still get reusable expansion slot covers - which is very nice to see at this price range. In addition to this, XPG includes a fine mesh dust filter in the front to protect the intake fans and has also placed metal mesh filters on the bottom and top of the chassis.
While the XPG Valor Mesh is rather compact, it can still hold plenty of solid hardware, with air cooling clearance being the one aspect that will limit you mostly to 120 mm towers. However, the chassis is also capable of utilizing an AIO in the ceiling and as such that should be the better route to go anyway. The other component you will have to be mindful of is the PSU, but there are plenty of options for 650–850 Watt units that fit the space and still allow for your HDDs to fit. The same goes for GPUs - while most will fit, the case is not made for the highest tiers of pixel pushers.
XPG includes a total of four fans with the enclosure, which perfectly caters to price conscious gamers, as they will likely not go out and spend a noticeable chunk of their build budget on fans. Instead, having something that works out of the box is just right.
There are a few drawbacks of course, with a few already mentioned above in terms of material thickness or space for some components. On top of that, you won't get USB-C yet in this segment, but XPG has luckily stayed clear of USB 2.0 as well. Also, there aren't any grommets on the interior of the chassis, so you will have to be extra diligent when doing your cable management to keep things as tidy as possible.
But, circling back to what you get for a mere $50: a compact ATX chassis that can hold the right type of hardware to be geared perfectly towards a budget minded user. If you are building an entry-level/mid-range rig and just need a clean, functional and compact chassis to house it all, the XPG Valor Mesh should be one to look at.
