Shape and Dimensions

Shape

Compared to shapes accommodating palm or claw grip, the design requirements for a pure fingertip grip mouse are different. Essentially, anything not in contact with the fingers is superfluous if not detrimental. Accordingly, the M2K is a very short yet moderately wide mouse. The front is marginally wider than the back, and the butt is rounded, but by and large, the shape isn't too far off from a simple square. All contact points are perfectly straight, including the sides. As a result, the M2K doesn't handle too differently from other mice, just with the small difference that the lower half is missing. Furthermore, in contrast to the front of most other mice, the buttons in fact don't sit as low, leading to a higher profile around the button area than on the Xtrfy MZ1, for instance. Personally, I've never used a pure fingertip grip on a mouse, yet found myself quite surprised by how effortless the transition from claw grip turned out to be. This is no doubt a testament to how refined the design of the M2K is.

As for grip styles, the M2K is exclusively for fingertip grip. It's a small-sized yet sufficiently wide mouse, which should make it generally suit most hand sizes. For reference, my hands are 19 cm long and 10 cm wide, and I found the M2K perfectly comfortable in fingertip grip.

Dimensions

This table includes the dimensions of the Zaunkoenig M2K and two non-ambidextrous mice, as finding anything as small as the M2K is a daunting task. "Front height" denotes the distance between the base and main buttons. Measurements with two decimals have been taken with a caliper, while those with one decimal have been taken with a ruler. For a full list of all measurements taken, please refer to this sheet compiled by an esteemed community member.
