The Crane 2 gimbal comes with two free apps that bear the name of the company; "Zhiyun Assistant" and "Zhiyun Play". The apps are compatible with both Android and iOS operating systems and can remotely control the Crane 2 via a Bluetooth connection. Zhiyun Play is more complex than the other app since it offers an abundance of settings and options for more shooting choices. Zhiyun Assistant is a simple and straightforward app that offers the basics. In the end, the appropriate app for each user will be the one that can actually connect your smartphone to the Crane 2 since the connection doesn't always work reliably with both apps.

This is what the app looks like while in photo mode.

Photo mode has a lot of settings and parameters, which means it will meet the demands of most users.

Here's the app in video mode.

The app controls the stabilizer via Bluetooth and offers an abundance of features to select from, and these features differ based on which shooting mode is currently selected. However, if a user owns a camera that is compatible with the Crane 2, but does not wish to use the app, such is also possible. By inserting the respective cable into the camera's corresponding control interface port, an operator may control the camera through the dials on the gimbal.

A user can adjust both the hardware and software of the stabilizer, or even remotely control the gimbal once placed on the tripod. Live streaming through specific platforms is also possible.

The Zhiyun app supports slow motion video, time lapse, and motion time lapse, and more parameters are also adjustable.
