Introduction

HyperX has been in the gaming peripherals scene for quite some time now, and they actually made mouse pads before they made mice. Their first mats were in the Skyn series, and they were ultra-thin models. The current palette consists of the Fury S line with a few different designs and two main surface types. This time around, I'm going to review the Fury S Speed Edition pads that come in four different sizes and an abstract print design. As the name suggests, it's a speed pad, which makes it a fast, smooth, ultra-densely woven mousing surface.

Prelude

Many still don't realize how much of a positive impact a good mouse pad can have. If you really dig deep into mouse-pad theory, you will soon find out that it is an extremely intuitive and divisive topic. A casual user most probably won't care much about all the different kinds, but if you are a hardcore gamer or maximalist—or both—you will want the best one for your needs. There isn't such a thing as the objectively best mouse pad because such differences can be subtle; however, they can be ridiculously huge as well.
