First of all, you're mixing up standards here. mSATA and mini PCI Express might share the same physical connector, but the two aren't the same.
All Bluetooth modules use USB, not PCI Express, but generally all mini PCI Express slots also supports USB, so a combo Wi-Fi card with USB should work.

I have the ASUS module on my P9X79. Once you plugin the antenna and put it in a decent place the signal is okay, but even with it coming out the back of the I/O panel, the signal still blows without an antenna. I also barely used the BT, so I would only be interested in the Wi-Fi itself tbh. I would love an option for an external antenna without having to craft up something myself though.
