ASUS Announces ZenWiFi AX Mini (XD4) for Whole-Home Wi-Fi 6 Coverage

ASUS today announced the ZenWiFi AX Mini (XD4), an ultracompact dual-band Wi-Fi 6 mesh router system designed to provide whole-home Wi-Fi 6 coverage in a stylish, space-saving format.

Available in three-pack bundles containing one router and two extension nodes, the ZenWiFi AX Mini is a Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) device offering Wi-Fi speeds1 of up to 1800 Mbps. It's designed to deliver fast and reliable Wi-Fi with easy setup and management. The units are ultracompact — ZenWiFi AX Mini has a footprint of just nine square centimeters — with a premium elegant design that suits any décor and also matches existing ZenWiFi devices. Users can download the free ASUS Router app for easy three-step setup. Free lifetime network security is provided by ASUS AiProtection, which is powered by Trend Micro and includes parental controls.
Stylish Ultracompact Design
The palm-sized ZenWiFi AX Mini has a space-saving footprint that shares designs elements with the existing ZenWiFi router series, including a premium metal-like coating with the iconic Zen-inspired spun-metal effect on the top surface. These miniature systems are designed to blend unobtrusively into any environment and visually match with any existing ZenWiFi devices. Additionally, the ZenWiFi AX Mini is available in a choice of two classic colors — White (available now) and Charcoal (available later in 2020).

Easy Setup, High Performance
The diminutive size of the ZenWiFi AX Mini devices does not compromise its performance or capabilities. Optimized electrical design and antenna placement allow the ZenWiFi AX Mini to deliver Wi-Fi 6 speeds of up to 1800 Mbps.

ZenWiFi AX Mini can be set up and configured by anyone, even those with limited technical knowledge. The easy three-step setup procedure using the free ASUS Router app allows users to get their whole-home Wi-Fi 6 network up and running in just a few minutes. Because each router uses AiMesh technology, the network can be extended even further using either additional ZenWiFi nodes, or any AiMesh-enabled ASUS router.

Advanced users can tailor their Wi-Fi network naming system to their needs: they can choose a single SSID name for the entire network, or assign individual SSID names to each frequency band. It's also possible to use a wired Ethernet connection as the backhaul connection between the nodes, making the ZenWiFi AX Mini supremely versatile.

Always Secure
The ZenWiFi AX Mini includes free lifetime network security with AiProtection, powered by Trend Micro. Regularly updated security signatures ensure that protection is always up to date. AiProtection provides an extra layer of security for personal data for families, or for business data when working from home. Built-in parental controls allow users to schedule family members' internet time with just a few clicks.

Looks like around $300 retail. Seems almost too cheap for 3 mesh devices.
