MOONDROP Releases Aria Snow Edition In-Ear Monitors

The MOONDROP Aria has been a highly successful set of IEMs from the brand. It also got some special limited edition variants too. Today, MOONDROP Aria gets a new variant, presenting you the Moondrop Aria Snow Edition. As the name suggests, Aria gets a complete design overhaul with a brand new CNC milled metal gold casing that now has a visually appealing Snowflake theme design. The biggest change with the MOONDROP Aria Snow Edition is an update on its driver, the OG Aria utilized a 10 mm dynamic driver with LCP (Liquid Crystal Polymer) diaphragm, MOONDROP has replaced that LCP diaphragm with high-quality DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) composite diaphragm as found in their famous Kanas Pro IEMs. With this new diaphragm, the Aria Snow Edition uses the same dual-cavity body structure as the OG Aria. This new DLC diaphragm enables the Aria to deliver high-quality details with a pure, clear, natural timbre. MOONDROP Aria Snow Edition is launched officially for the same price as the OG model, $79.99.

Apart from the sound tuning, MOONDROP has a good name in the industry for impressive craftsmanship. It is evident with the latest Aria Snow Edition too. The pair features CNC machined metallic ear cavities with an impressive snow-flake design. The pair looks simply appealing, pretty sure you are gonna love wearing them around your friends. MOONDROP Aria Snow Edition comes with a bunch of high-quality accessories including the MOONDROP Spring Tips and a high-purity cable. The pair adopts a high-purity 6N OFC (Oxygen-Free Copper) Silver-Plated cable with standard 2-pin 0.78 mm connectors and 3.5 mm termination. There is no price update with the MOONDROP Aria Snow Edition, the pair is available to purchase at the same price as the OG Aria, @79.99. Feel free to check out more details here.

For their price range group, the roughly 300 multi driver types, they are damn hard to beat. They punch well above their weight as well and combat some items in the 500+ range. They throw in a high end cable and carrying case as well which is nice. They are probably the best value on the market right now.

It, along with the Blessing 2: Dusk, released before I got into reviewing IEMs. So I'll have to wait for the eventual Blessing 3 to see how MOONDROP's entry past the $200 market is like.

Well needed refresh , the 20$ CHU made this purchase unreasonable before, I hope the frequency response is better.

Yeah, but the Chu has its own set of problems. I've mentioned them in my review that should be published soon.

You tried the 12 buck quarks? Those are comedically good. Also don't know where you are but I could lend you a blessing 2 for a bit if you wanted to go through it if the shipping isn't nuts. I'm gearing up for the S8s as I got a new job which means it's time splurge a bit! Maybe the variations I'm curious about the electrostat in it.

Only MOONDROP IEM experience I have are with the Chu, Nekocake, Aria (soon Aria Snow Edition too), Sparks, and KATO. I am based in the UK though, so probably doesn't make sense. I appreciate the offer nonetheless :)

Yep, no it would not. And you're faffing about their lowest end there.

The Blessing is the steal of what they have (probably why you heard of it) and sort of steals the thunder from everything above it. Not that the variations, A8, or S8 are bad, far from it they also clobber things above their price point. But it's just not as ruthless of a beating as the Blessing 2 is. I tried the Dusk version and crinacle knows his shit but, I prefer the stock tuning.

I sprung for the MasDrop KXXX and it was... interesting. Carbon nanotube diaphrams all that jazz and kicks in at under 200 but meh? It's good for a DD but there is some serious competition at that range and didn't stand out. Some of what they make is lightning in a bottle and they should (and do!) get credit for that. Other stuff is muddy. I hear from multiple people the A8 is better than the more recent S8 and even the variations is more of a "go for broke" idea.

Who knows!

The variations is literally the best you can get under 1k , z1r would be next logical step but so damn rare and expensive, for me the list of iems from cheap to expensive: CHU—> er2se(but I hate the fit)—> 7hz timeless—> Variations—> z1r , I have not tried every single iem in between the price brackets but frequency response tells u 90% of the story.go for it .

Sure , I mean 20$ it must have limitations, but compared to the Aria it is better, I have seen the FR yesterday, still unjustifiable purchase imo.

Hah! ER good old "ear rape" etymotic. I have the old ER4s and the newer ER4SE.

I'll grab the variations soon enough, glad to hear I'm not misplaced. I've heard great things about them and it will give me a chance to slim down the IEM list. The SO loves the blessing 2's and she often takes them to work. And as much as I like the shures the plastic always cracks, and as for etymotic.... eh hurts after a bit.

I found the Chu kinda dull sounding, lacking in detail if compared to anything else I have, but it doesn't make it any less of a bargain.

The tips from the Chu is on my M9 now, and the M9 is still more detailed than the Variations but not by much. Moondrop is getting close to being the best value for money so far, without might of the comfort issues I have on going with the M9.
