Introduction
Palit is one of the first companies to release a custom designed GTX 470 card. They changed the PCB design and the cooling solution to meet their demands, first of all allowing the cards to be built at a more affordable cost level.
In regards to specifications and clocks nothing has changed, the Palit GTX 470 offers exactly the same performance at the reference design, the only notable change is the reduced price of $330 vs. $350 of the reference design.

Packaging
Palit's package is dominated by the company's signature color green. The only sign that this is a non reference card is the "sticker" on the left side of the package mentioning dual fan and four video outputs.
Contents
You will receive:
- Graphics card
- Driver CD + Quick Install Guide
- CD with NVIDIA Design Garage and Supersonic Sled
- DVI to VGA adapter
- PCI-Express power cable
The Card
Palit has decided to completely replace the NVIDIA thermal solution with their own design. Instead of a single fan, Palit uses two of them now. The card is also about 1 cm shorter which shouldn't make any difference at all.
Just like the reference design cards, you need two slots in your system for installation.
The card has two DVI ports, one HDMI port and one DisplayPort. An adapter for DVI to analog VGA is included in the package, too. Please note that due to NVIDIA's chip design you can only use two outputs at the same time.
The HDMI interface is HDMI 1.3a compatible which includes Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD, AC-3, DTS and up to 7.1 channel audio with 192 kHz / 24-bit.
The Palit GTX 470 can run in SLI configurations up to four cards for maximum performance or image quality.
Here are the front and the back of the card, high-res versions are also available (
